In their more than ninety minutes long live show the four musicians of Danza surely let the beat go. Saxophoneplayer and composer Jan Rzewski steers his band-members drummer Renaud, bassplayer Luc and electric guitarist Hughes from height to height, luring each of them into the spotlights at times. Danza is a jazzband yes. But a jazzband which invites to dance.At times they do this whilst wildly rocking all over the place, at other moments with a much more delicate and frivolous seduction of the hips, or on the century-old rhythm of a sad tarantella. A jazzband which at one moment drenches its audience in nostalgia, baffles it immediatly after that with its technical virtuosity and improvisational talent and finally draws them into an exuberant partyfrenzy .
