Basile Rahola, bassist and double bassist, started playing electric bass in 2001 at the age of 7 at the IEFAR (European Institute for Training in Rhythmic Arts) in Montpellier. He took lessons there until the age of 13 and then continued with a private teacher until he was 16.

In 2012, he took jazz workshops with pianist Pierre Coulon-Cerisier and continued learning bass occasionally with bassist Alfred Vilayleck (Gratitude Trio, Grand ensemble KOA, Peemaï…).

In 2013, he joined the jazz department of the ENM in Villeurbanne (Lyon) where he learned double bass, and took lessons with musicians such as Pierre Baldy-Moulinier, Thierry Beaucoup, Gilbert Dojat. During his years in Lyon, Basile Rahola multiplied his stage and club experiences in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region, in France but also abroad (Spain, Canary Islands, Belgium, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Italy, Slovakia, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Morocco, etc.)

After 3 years spent in Barcelona, ​​where he recorded with musicians such as Octavio Hernández, David Xirgu, Gianni Gagliardi, Ancor Miranda, Albert Bover, he continues his career as a musician in Brussels today where he performs in the various clubs and festivals of the city and the country, without stopping the European comings and goings and concerts with his projects Basile Rahola Quartet (Fresh Sound New Talent) and other groups such as Wajdi Riahi Trio (FSNT), Yonatan Hes Trio, Tomas Rivera Trio, Armando Luongo “New Lands” …

In 2025, he signed his second album “From One Path To Another” with IGLOO, in quartet format (piano, sax, double bass, drums). An album that exudes maturity, serenity but also complicity and even osmosis. A reflection on the place of man in the complexity of today’s world.
