Belgian pianist and composer Bram De Looze (1991, Knokke-Heist) founds his way to music throughout his teens. In 2007 he started the band LABtrio together with drummer Lander Gyselinck and bassist Anneleen Boehme. Winning the Tremplin Jazz d’Avignon 2012 festival gives them the chance to record their first album ‘Fluxus’ on ‘Outnote Records – Outhere Music’ in fall 2013, released on the Gent Jazz Festival 2013. In 2014 they are selected by the 12 Points Festival and invited to Sweden.
In Bram De Looze’s latest new band ‘Septych’ he chooses for the sound of two cello’s, three horns, drums and piano. This new exploration of Bram De Looze’s composing will be performed by very diverse and astounding improvisers: Daniel Levin, Lester St-Louis, Robin Verheyen, Gebhard Ullmann, Bo Van Der Werf and Flin Van Hemmen in december 2014. Bram De Looze made several records with the Dre Hocevar Trio, Stephanos Chytiris PYR|N Flux Project, De Looze / Machtel / De Waele. Bram De Looze studied at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York with Uri Caine and Marc Copland.
