Dorian Dumont was born in 1988 in Montpellier (France). He began classical piano at the age of 7 at the Montpellier Regional National Conservatory. In 2005, he obtained the Gold Medals in classical piano and chamber music with unanimous honors and the jury’s congratulations, as well as his Music Theory Prize, thus obtaining his Diploma of Musical Studies (D.E.M.).

While continuing his training in classical music, Dorian began to take an interest in jazz and improvised music the following year by joining the Montpellier jazz workshop with Pierre de Bethmann, François Théberge, Stéphane Foucher and Peter Giron.

He definitively turned to jazz by leaving for Brussels in 2007 to study at the Royal Conservatory of Music with Eric Legnini. He will finish his Master 2 at the Koninklijk Conservatorium of Brussels where he studied with Diederik Wissels, Kris Defoort, David Linx, Nathalie Loriers, John Ruocco…

Now based in Brussels, and cultivating eclecticism, he performs with all these projects in varied styles (and sometimes others), in equally varied places in front of very diverse people…
