Eight pianists...one composer...Is this album simply exploring the creative output of one composer through the eyes and ears of eight colleagues?
With Charles Loos, it's never that simple.

In fact, this album seems to explore the very relationship between composition and improvisation; between the composer and the "interpreter". In classical music, if one examines the role of the composer with that of the interpreter, there is a little ambiguity. Both are essential, but the interpretation remains subordinate to the composition. In this particular collaboration, each pianist has chosen a composition which has become, in essence, his own. Inspired by, but at the same time independent of the original composition, each pianist has succeeded in producing virtually a new piece.
