A complete generation separates Fabian, the fan of contemporary music, from Guy, who loves the tradition of jazz. From the inevitable relationship of master and pupil, they have grown towards a sort of open conversation fed with deep mutual empathy. What they offer is close to being hand-crafted.
It finds its references in an "organic" manner, searching for a duo sound which is entierly acoustic while differing from the more obvious examples.
Born in 1973, the pianist and composer Fabian Fiorini works both solo and together with musicians such as Guy Cabay and Fabrizio Cassol in Belgium. He has also composed music for theatre and the cinema.
Born in 1950, jazz vibraphonist, composer and arranger Guy Cabay is also an author and occasional crooner. He has recorded a number of records in his Liege dialect, which swings so much he could be confused for a Brazilian singer! He is currently professor of Jazz History and analysis at the Conservatoire in Brussels and in Luxemburg.
