Mathieu Robert
Mathieu Robert is a Belgian saxophonist, composer, and music teacher. For several years, he has specialized in the soprano saxophone and developed his style through numerous projects ranging from solo to big band.
After studying at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and earning a master's degree in jazz and improvised music from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Flemish section), he is now active on the Belgian jazz scene as a leader and co-leader in the following projects: Fatik Trio + Extensions, Philémon, the Dog Who Didn't Want to Grow Up, Edi Olvitt, Mousse: A Musical Poetry Show, Robert-Ganau Duo, and Pierre Vaiana–Mathieu Robert Duo: A Conversation for Two Soprano Saxophones.
He also performs as a sideman with: Zola Quartet, Guillaume Vierset Harvest Group, and Stijn Cools' Book of Air: vvolk.
Over the years, he has had the pleasure of performing in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and China alongside Gonzalo Rodriguez, Nicolas Lancerotti, Didier Van Uitvancq, Guillaume Vierset, Yannick Peeters, Yves Peeters, Pierre Vaiana, Stijn and Bert Cools, Benjamin Sauzereau, Jeremy Dumont, Jan de Haas, Jean-Louis Rassinfosse, Chris Joris, François Decamps, Paolo Loveri, Toon Van Dionant, Eve Beuvens, and others.
