About
After the album "Amuri & Spiranza" recorded as a quintet, Pierre Vaiana wanted to continue the adventure as a trio, with soprano sax, guitar and cello, to explore a fluid, open orchestration and the most interactive group playing, at the crossroads of the music he likes to listen to, between jazz, folk, chamber music and world music.
This music was dreamt up while walking along the road to Valledolmo, a large farming village lost in the hills and forgotten countryside of Sicily. On that long-awaited spring afternoon, the black wheat fields had just been ploughed, and the clods were still shiny from the slicing. In an unlikely paradox, you could see the sky reflected in them. One of Dante Alighieri's verses echoed in his memory: "nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita ..." (in the middle of the path of our life ...). (in the middle of the path of our life), and it seemed to capture the essence of the moment. Like music that could be the soundtrack to an imaginary road movie.
