Early music meets jazz. Music 4 A While takes a contemporary, personal and original look at music from the 14th to the 17th centuries. A (re)discovery!
Brought together by pianist Johan Dupont, five musicians revisit mostly European music written during the Renaissance. They bring their unique vision to this ancient repertoire by giving songs by John Dowland, Henry Purcell and Claudio Monteverdi contemporary and original arrangements.
From traditional Catalonian Christmas hymns to tarantella lullabies – not forgetting France’s oldest popular songs – “Music 4 a while” brilliantly remodels this ancient repertoire by adding the players’ various musical influences.
