Perception

Following the success of their album Rôles (Igloo, 2022), Synestet presents this fourth album, which establishes its European dimension (Belgium, France, Germany and Switzerland) with the arrival of Nils Wogram. This creation was made possible thanks to valuable partners: IGLOO Records, the Jazz sous les Pommiers festival in Coutances, Bozar in Brussels and the company La Nageuse in France.

Since 2017, Synestet has been developing a unique musical language based on original compositions and a demanding approach to improvisation, nourished by the fundamentals of jazz. The integration of the trombone opens up new sonic perspectives, enriching the dynamics of the playing, the range of timbres and the interaction within the group.

With Perception, Synestet appeals to the senses: music becomes matter, evoking colours, textures, shapes and resonances. Six musicians, driven by a taste for risk and exploration, weave an organic soundscape that is both written and spontaneous.

On the initiative of Hélène Duret, and in a universe that dialogues as much with Ornette Coleman, Jimmy Giuffre and Duke Ellington as with Jakob Bro and Timber Timbre, this unique encounter gives birth to an open music, where simplicity and inventiveness are at the heart of the discourse.
