About
Classicaly-trained Claudine Simon, bandleader of Lilith, has an in-bred need to write. For "Eclaircie" (bright interval) she turns this need into an adventure in sound. This is jazz of today, written from the viewpoint of a woman. Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver and Herbie Hancock's first groups are not too far away.
But Claudine Simon throws in her own spices: rock, samba (for a giddy "Bal a l'Ambassade"), bossa, reggae and jazz as a plural. Melody keeps an upper hand, with a very particular ear for arrangement: personal, non-conformist and with swing. All this comes together in a very attaching whole thanks to the contributions of Belgium's finest performers.
